NAZI LOSSES AT ZINTEN
Rec. 9 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 23. Four thousand Germans were killed, 520 taken prisoner, and 41 tanks and 60 guns destroyed in the fighting for Zinten, which the Germans had converted into a powerful defence point, says a Moscow supplementary communique. The town included concrete firing points and deep anti-tank ditches. There were also concentrated more than 80 artillery and mortar batteries on the heights surrounding the town. The Russians captured Schekendorf, one and a half miles south of Guben, and Strega, four miles north of Forst.
