YACHTING
Approximately 60 boats are engaged in the yachting regatta which commenced at Evans Bay on Saturday and will continue today. The best race of the weeftend was the inter-club championship for all classes of 14-footers. It was won by Innocence after a close contest with.Putorino, only 19sec separating the yachts at the end of the course, Results of the weekend races were as follows:— Saturday. Keel Yachts.—Waiomo (scr), 1; Maranui (17 mm), 2; Romp (lOmin), 3. Six starters. Taurangas (championship event). —Pup, 1; Junior, 2; Little Man, 3. Fifteen starters. This was the largest fleet of Taurangas to race in any one event on Port Nicholson for a considerable time. Idle Alongs.—Riptide, 1; Tornado, 2; Belvedere, 3.
