SNOW IN CANTERBURY
P.A. ASHBURTON, This Day. Snow fell in the uplands of Mid-Can-terbury last night. There were three inches at Staveley, Anama, and Springburn, and one inch at Methven. Heavy rain' fell yesterday and today. Staveley has had 540 points of rain so far this month. The conditions have been wintry. •
