REPARATIONS IN KIND
LONDON, December 4.
'-'France demands reparations in kind from Germany to compensate for the damage to French industry," said M. Pleven, French Minister of Finance, over Limoges radio. "We shall not be as foolish as we were at the end of the last war. . We shall not ask for marks which will be mysteriously frozen for many years. We shall be paid with good, hard, tangible things, such as coal from the Saar and the Ruhr and with locomotives which we will make the Germans build for v? if we cannot find our own."
A CHANGE FOR RIBBENTROP?
NEW YORK, December 4
According to excellent private information from Berlin, Ribbentrop, the German Foreign Minister, will be succeeded by the Nazi Governor of the Netherlands, Dr. Seyss-Inquart, says the Stockholm correspondent of the "New York Times." Ribbentrop has long been in the bad books of Himmler. who dislikes Ribbentrop's musical comedy poses and ramshackle system of alliances which do not stand the test of adversity. As Himmler runs Germany, it is natural that he should drop a Minister he dislikes.
