BANK SHARES FALL
LONDON, December 4. *uTl\ e rpv \ val of the suggestion that the Australian Government intends to nationalise banks has brought sharp falls m Australian bank shares in London. However, it appears that investors are more disturbed than bankers, who regard the fall in the shares as too great. .At present prices the shares show yields ranging from, 6 1-8 per cent, on the Bank of Australasia, to nearly 7 per cent, on the English, Scottish, and Australian Bank and the Union Ba.rik of Australia. These are almost double the yields available on British banking shares.
