TO UNITE FARMERS

NEW ORGANISATION

"Federated Farmers of New Zealand, Inc., is now an accomplished fact," stated Messrs. B. V. Cooksley, chairman of the Farmers' Fedex-ation, G. H. Grigg, president of the Sheepowners' Federation, and W.. W. Mulholland. Dominion president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, in a pubiic announcement today. This is the. new farmers' organisation in which the Sheepowners' Federation and the Farmers' Union have combined, and which,- other producers' organisations are preparing to join. It will be the means of linking all the primary producers into one big organisation.

"Federated Farmers, Inc., has now been registered," proceeded the statement, "and has had its rules approved, and it is intended to press right on with the organising of the new body. Early in the New Year steps will be taken to get the branches of various farming organisations to set up provisional executives in the various', provincial areas throughout the Dominion. It should be stressed however, that these provisional executives will hold office only until such time as executives can be democratically elected by conferences to take their places. As soon as the initial moves have been made in the provinm, a/^ as» ii; is hoped that all farmers will take steps to see that they are linked up with the new organisation and take a hand in moulding it . "The success of Federated Farmers depends entirely on the support it receives from the man on the land, for the new body will be what the farmer makes it. We appeal to all farmers to get behind it and assist in achieving for it tne success that it deserves."
