AMERICAN PACT WITH SPAIN

LONDON, December 2. Representatives of the United States and Spain signed a commercial air agreement today giving the United States the right to use Spain as a gateway for three air routes into Europe and Africa, says the Madrid correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain. The agreement provides for the use of Spanish airfields by United States passenger, mail, and freight planes. It gives Spain the right to operate airlines across the United States on similar conditions to those granted to the United States. The signatories are bound not to engage in purely international traffic in each other's country.
