WAR NO LONGER "DOWN UNDER"
' SYDNEY, December 3. "Yank Down Under," the South-west Pacific edition of the United States Army weekly journal, has changed its title following the American landings in the Philippines. Its new name is now "Yank in the Far East."
"Only a small number of our readers are left in Australia," says the
paper editorially. "Many, if not most of United States soldiers reading this have never seen Australia.
. I*, is true that New Guinea, the Admiralties, and Bougainville are all beneath the equator, but we will not be there for long. It is no longer a down-under war." -
