HEAVY DAMAGE IN TOKIO

NEW YORK, November 30.

Tokio broadcasts indicate that Super-Fortresses have inflicted heavy damage in Tokio, says the United Press. Premier - Koiso has promised immediate aid to bombed-out householders. School hours have been shortened, children leaving school at 11 a.m.

Koiso, denouncing the bombing as part of a war of nerves, praised Japanese bravery, and appealed for energetic aid in extinguishing the fires. He said that the attack exclusively affected residential and shopping areas.

Addressing a Press conference, the Secretary of War, Mr. H, L. Stimson, said that the three raids against Tokio within six days outstandingly demonstrated the ability of the United States to carry the war to the heart of Japan. The Japanese can expect a regularly repeated and constantly expanded pattern of destruction.
