TRAMWAYMEN'S AWARD

■Wages are unaltered in the Wellington City-Tramways, Omnibus, and Power Houses Employees' Award issued by the.Court of Arbitration to remain in force until October 1 1945 ..but a new clause stipulates that'3s 4d be added to the weekly wages of employees completing 40 hours work in the week. Holidays have been altered, and are as follows: Motormen, conductors, car equipment adjusters, car examiners, * car cleaners, shift pitmen, emergency linesmen and emergency truck drivers track cleaners and power house work- ~ ers will work on public and statutory holidays and will receive three weeks' (fifteen w.orking days) holiday at ordinary rates of pay after each nine months of employment. Other employees are to receive two weeks' (ten working days) holiday at ordinary . rates of pay after each twelve months of employment. If the worker and the employer agree, the holiday may be taken in two parts, but no part is to be for a period of less than five days. Not less than 14 days' clear notice must be given by the employer to the employee to go on leave. All holiday pay must be paid in advance.

•Car shed employees on night shift are to be paid double time for Sunday ' work.
