DIFFICULT TERRAIN
(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.) Rec. 10.45 a.m. LONDON, October 5. The forces of the Fifth Army are steadily reducing the distance separating them from Bologna, despite resistance in difficult mountain country, says the Exchange Telegraph agency's Rome correspondent. Two forces are ..now less than 14 miles in a direct line from Bologna; one is on the highway less than 1000 yards from Loiano, and the other is in the mountains, where an advance of three miles resulted in the capture of Monte Venere, a key feature three miles west of Loiano and dominating the highway to Loiano.
. Advances have been made towards the Rimini-Bologna highway and also a secondary road to Cuviola. The Germans, using massed guns, are trying to halt this drive, r .
