BRITISH CARRIERS
POST-WAR USE AS LINERS
LONDON,; October 5. Britain is building huge aircraftcarriers which can be changed into liners after the.war, says the "DailyMirror." This Will give Britain crack liners more powerful than the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.with which to rule the peace-time seas.-. The carriers can be converted into liners by removing the flight decks and the crew's quarters. ~v:-
In addition to retaining Britain's sea supremacy the new liners will counter the threat to the maritime . services caused by the rapid strides-in trans-, ocean air services. Practically all the existing liners will have to be reconditioned or replaced after the war.
