A pilot who took part in many operations against some of the most heavily defended areas of northern France and Holland is Pilot Officer M. J. Corich, of Christchurch, who has been awarded the D.F.M. After serving in Bomber Command and in the Indian and Burmese theatres of war, with an, excellent operational record in each, Warrant Officer E. D. Bardell, a Tauranga air gunner, has been awarded the D.F.C. An Auckland pilot, Flight Sergeant I. D. Culpan, D.F.M., is praised for his skill in flying both bomber and fighter aircraft. .
