O.C. AUCKLAND, This Day. "Approximately 1500 tons of ceal are being taken from this property each week, and we are supplying therailways," said Mr. A. K. Turner, reporting to the Auckland University College Council yesterday on the working of an open-cast coalmine owned by the college at Huntly. Mr. Turner said there was at least six months' supoly available at the present rate. The damage to the farming surface was slight/Similar work was being done on an adjoining property. Reports on other coal-producing areas on the college land were given by Mr. Turner in his; capacity as chairman of the property committee.
