PLANS FOR GOVERNMENT Rec. 11.15 a.mr RUGBY, Sept 18.
Plans for >governing those parts of Germany which are brought under the control of the Western Allies have been broadcast to the people of western and southern Germany on the authority, of General Eisenhower.
The destruction of National Socialism, the removal from responsible posts of all members of the National Socialist Party and of S.S. and others who have played a leading part in National Socialism will be among the prime objectives of an Allied military government, which will be established in Germany under General Eisenhower. The latter will exercise supreme legislative, judicial", and executive authority by means of the Allied Military Government, which he will set up wader the powers vested in him as supreme commander and military governor. The immediate task of this government during military operations will- be to secure the communications of the Allied armies and suppress any activities in the occupied areas of Germany which could impair the speedy conclusion of the war. The task of destroying National Socialism will be simultaneous with the furthering of military operations, and will 'begin immediately Allied armies arrive in .?ach area and military government is inaugurated. The civilian population, have been instructed as far as possible to continue their normal occuDations.— B.CVW.
