LOW COUNTRIES' LEADERS
: . • . LONDON, September 4. The Prime Minister of Belgium, Mr. Hubert Pierlot, and the Foreign Minister, Mr. Paul Spaak, visited Mr Eden today, perhaps for the last time before returning to their own country. A communique from headquarters of the Belgian Forces of Resistance I states that in August the Forces of Resistance carried out more than 415 operations against the railway system. The damage included 53 derailments and collisions, and 18 bridges damaged. The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dr. Ger-brandy, in a message to Mr. Churchill on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the outbreak of war. says: ."You have interpreted and fortified the . spirit of the British people. You have led them in the war from the bitter hours of May, 1940 until the bright days of the present' Thus you have also given inspiration and encouragement to the Government and people of my country. "I hope that in the very near future complete victory in Europe, followed by the early defeat of Japan, will crown your labours and the joint efforts of the United Nations." Mr. Churchill, in his reply, says: "May it not belong before the Dutch people, at home and in the empire, regain the freedom, happiness, and prosperity to which they are entitled."— 8.0. W. ' ' - •
