RAILWAY YARD FIRE
P.A. HASTINGS, This Day. An engine shed in the Hastings railway yards which house a shunting tractor caught fire yesterday afternoon and was completely gutted, but the fire brigade made a smart save of the tractor, which was only slightly damaged. Driver R. C. Bateman twice attempted^ to start the tractor engine, but was overcome by smoke and had to be rescued by his father.
