GAOL FOR TWO MONTHS
"These children have to be protected," said Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in imposing sentence on Martin Ernest Duncan, engineer, 28,' in the Magistrate's Court today after he had pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting, two girls, aged nine and 11, in a city theatre on Saturday afternoon. Senior-Sergeant G. Paine said that Duncan had sat next to the girls and during the programme had placed his hand on the legs of one of them. She immediately went and complained, and while she was away he did the same with the other girl. Duncan was under the influence of liquor at the time. The children were not injured in any way. : Duncan was sentenced to two months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent. '
