U.S. EQUIPMENT IMPROVED
LONDON, September 2. Brigadier-General D. G. Spengler, who played a prominent part in the. invasion of France, indicated that the impending large-scale amphibious operations in the Pacific will be con-
ducted with new and better equipment, based on the experience in Europe. He added: "The exact engineering technique used in the north and south France landings is still a military secret, but it was successful beyond expectations."
