Nellikutha, popular Zoo elephant, whose death occurred yesterday afternoon folloiving an illness losing eleven days. ,A post-mortem is to be made to determine the cause of death. The curator (Mr. C. J. Cutler), the elephant's special 1 attendant, and the Zoo veterinary surgeon made every effort to save her.. Nellikutha was presented to the Wellington City Corporation 17 years ago by the Madras Government, and during that period has given great pleasure to many children.
