808 HOPE IN SYDNEY
Rec. 9 a.m. SYDNEY, August 15. The film comedian Bob Hope and his party of entertainers arrived in Sydney this afternoon after -an adventurous flight from the Solomons. The amphibian plane bringing the party from Brisbane was forced down by engine trouble late yesterday at Laurieton, 280 miles north of Sydney. With Hope are the Hollywood stars Frances Langford, Jerry Colonna, and Patty Thomas, and a guitarist, Tony Romano. Hundreds of people assembled outside a Sydney hotel to welcome the party.
