MR. HERBERT BUXTON
The death occurred on Tuesday at Wellington of Mr. Herbert Buxton, at the age of 83. Born in Tasmania, Mr. Buxton joined the service of the Neiv Zealand Railways as a cadet in the South Island. He was subsequently assistant inspector at Christchurch, chief clerk in the district traffic manager's office, Dunedin, audit inspector at Wellington, traffic agent at Wanganui, district traffic manager at Wanganui and at Auckland. In 1904 he was appointed chief district traffic manager at Wellington, remaining in that position until his retirement in 1924. He leaves a son, Mr. A. B. Buxton, and a daughter, both of Wellington.
