Exaggerated reports about the number of servicemen admitted to tlie mental hospitals of the Dominion are corrected by the Director-General of Mental Hospitals (Dr. T. G. Gray) in his annual report, presented to the House of Representatives yesterday. Dr. Gray gave the full figures, which shoAved that 110 servicemen from over, .-as had been admitted during the war period, 49 had been discharged recovered, 13 had been discharged but not recovered, and two had died, leaving 46 in the institutions. Admissions from camps in New Zealand totalled 127, of Avhom 59 had recovered, 17 had been discharged not recovered, and five had died, 46 remaining in the hospitals. "These numbers are not high." concluded Dr. Gray, "and no doubt a large percentage of those remaining will have recovered before this report is printed." The general position Avas that the average number of patients during the past year was 4376 males and 3746 females, and during the year 361 patients who had recovered were discharged.
