DELAYS TO FLYING-BOAT

SYDNEY, July 12,

Attempts on two successive days by the 13 visiting British and Canadian Parliamentarians to leave Australia have been thwarted. Yesterday a defect in its radio equipment prevented the flying-boat from leaving for New Zealand after the members of the Parliamentary delegations had twice gone aboard. Today the flying-boat took off at the scheduled time but returned some hours later.

Tasman Empire Airways explained today that the second delay that had occurred to the visiting Parliamentary party had been occasioned by adverse weather at present over the Tasman Sea. It was the consistent policy of the company to avoid flying when adverse conditions were known to obtain.
