NEW THREAT TO GERMANS
LONDON, July 12.
A new .threat to the German frontier has appeared today in the news that the Ked Army is fanning out from the Vilna-Grodno railway, reports Reuters Moscow correspondent. It is on this sector that the Russians have reached the nearest point to East Prussia, The escape gap of the Germans who are now practically trapped in the Pripet Marshes has been reduced to 25 miles. Thousands of Germans are retreating along the maze of roads across the marshes, many of which lead into swamps or become impassThe Russians at Vilna are slicing the German garrison into smaller groups, which have lost unity of command and are running out of ammunition. The German paratroops who were dropped at Vilna have been wiped out to the last man.
