ANGLO-AMERICAN ROMANCE
Mrs. W. S. La Trobe, of Auckland, has announced the engagement. of her daughter Lois to Captain Edward F. Cogswell, United States Army. Miss La Trobe is. the daughter of Mrs. W. S. La Trobe, of Glendowie, Auckland, and the late William Sanderson- La Trobe, Esq., C.8.E., who was for twenty years the Director of Technical Education in New Zealand, having previously been lecturer and assistant demonstrator in engineering at Cambridge University, England. ■
Miss La Trobe was educated at Marsden School, Wellington, and also studied for three years •in Hungary and France. In November, 1942, she took up her present secretarial position with the Services of Supply, United States Army.
Captain Cogswell is the son of Mrs. Frederick. D. Woods, of Henniker, New Hampshire, and Wellesley, Massachusetts, and previous to entering the army in 1941 was engaged in real estate business in Boston, with Street and Co., Inc. He graduated from Dartmouth College, , Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1929, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. The date for the wedding has not yet been announced.
