ONE BIG UNION
SUPPORT FROM FARMERS O.C. PALMERSTON N, This Day. The interprovincial conference of the Farmers' Union yesterday gave priority to a discussion on the matter of unity amongst the primary producers of the Dominion. The president, Mr. W. W. Mulholland, spoke of the suggestion that the different primary industries should have their own organisations with all the tops welded together, but he was afraid that would not work. To have the various primary industries split up would only be a weakness. They could not bring the greatest voting strength to bear. The only way to speak with a united voice was to have, all farmers in one big organisation. ' Mr. Mulholland found considerable support from delegates, and the following motion was carried lUnanimously: "That as the time is now opportune for the formation of one union !of primary producers, this conference is of the opinion that apart from matters pertaining to increased production, the whole energies and resources of the union should be devoted towards this goal."
