CHANGE IN GAS BOARD
One change has been made in the local body election results in Petone on completion of the official count by the Returning Officer, Mr. H. Firth. Mr. V. E. 'Jacobson replaces Mr. F. K. London on the Petone Gas Lighting Board. The original count gave Mr. London a majority of seven votes, but the official count has resulted in Mr. Jacobson being returned with a majority of 17 over Mr. London.
The official count of the votes for the Johnsonville Town Board, completed yesterday, resulted in slight changes in some of the numbers of votes, but no alteration in the result of the election. The figures are advertised.
Although the official count in the local body elections at Lower Hutt has not yet been completed, it can be said that through-an error at one of the booths, one of the Mayoral candidates, Mr. P. Dowse (Labour) was credited with approximately 200 votes in excess of those polled in his favour. This now increases the majority of Mr. J. W. Andrews by the same amount.
At Upper Hutt an error has been disclosed in the figures of Mr. T. Clyma (Labour), the lowest polling candidate elected to the Borough Council. His majority over Mr. J .A. Taylor (Citizens) is now reduced to a very small margin. The official count is in progress, but will not be completed until tomorrow.
