AUCKLAND'S WOOL CHEQUE
P.A. AUCKLAND, May 17. A wool cheque of £2,025,891, representing the sale of 10(i,694 bales, has been distributed in the Auckland Province this season. The figures are only sightly lower than the peak level recorded In 11)42-43, when £2,039,839 was realised for 106,763 bales. The average a bale this season was £18 19s 9d, against £19 2s Id for the previous period. Commenting on the figures, the chairman of the Auckland Woolbrokers' Association, Mr. H. Duke, said the season's results were exceedingly satisfactory and much better than might have been expected In view of the serious difficulties arising from war conditions. DENTAL AND MEDICAL SUPPLY CO. The annual accounts of the Dental and Medical Supply Co., Ltd., for the year ended March 31 disclose a trading profit of £13,699, compared with £14,401 the previous year. With, this and the amount brought forward, less £10,000 for anticipated taxation, there Is £4640 available to shareholders. The directors recommend a dividend of 5 per cent, (unchanged) less security taxes, leaving £1750 to be carried forward. A.C.I. INTERIM DIVIDENDS. The directors of Australian Consolidated Industries, Ltd., have declared dividends of 4V 2 per cent, on the preference shares for the halfyear, and 3Vss per cent, on the ordinary shares. Both dividends are payable on June 23. The ordinary dividend the previous year was 6% per cent.
