AN ALL-TIME RECORD
(By T-legrapti—Press Association—Copyright.) Rec. 9 a:m. SYDNEY, April 12. An all-time Australasian record was established today at the yearling sales, when an average of 633 guineas was realised. For the two days the average now stands at 562 guineas, which exceeds the records established in New Zealand this year. For 130 yearlings 82,335 guineas were paid today. The top price was 4500 guineas for a filly by Golden Sovereign from Feminist, who was knocked down in the name of the trainer, G. Johnson. This is the highest price ever paid for a yearling filly at an Australasian sale. Twentyeight youngsters brought 1000 guineas or more. The Tar wyn Park Stud, where Golden Sovereign stands, sold 11 lots at an average of 1325 guineas. The Kia Ora Stud, owned by Mr. Percy Miller, was well up with 16 lots, averaging 1075 guineas.
