EFFORTS TO CHECK SUPPLY
' WASHINGTON, April 4. The United States Government has been working for some time with Britain to induce Portugal to cease shipping wolfram to Germany, said the Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, j at a Press conference. The Associated Press of America says that Spain has cut exports of wolfram pending negotiations with the United States and Britain, and that the embargo on wolfram exports is the main point of discussion. Portugal's production is considerably higher than Spain's, and has been equally divided between Germany, the United States, and Britain.
