OBITUARY
MR. J. F. W. MILLS
The death has occurred at Auckland of Mr. John Fortescue Wright Mills, following a short illness. Aged 76 he was the only surviving son of the late Mr E W. Mills, founder of the firm of that name, and was associated with it for many years. He was prominent in rowing and sporting circles, being a life member of the Star Boating Club and a keen member of the Hunt, Racing, and Polo Clubs. In earlier days he was a member of the Wellington Guards. He. is survived by his wife, Dr. D. E. Platts-Mills, his daughter, Dr. Adah Platts-Mills, late of Foxton and now of Remuera, and two sons, Messrs. E. W. Mills, Palmerston North, and John Platts-Mills. London. His sisters are Mesdames Russell, of Victoria, Andrew Anderson, of Christchurch, W. J. Grey, of Melbourne, and W. J. Napier, of Auckland. The late Mrs. Holmwood, of Henley-on-Thames, was also a sister.
