JAPANESE CRUISER
SUNK BY BRITISH SUBMARINE
LONDON, January 21
A British submarine, operating in the South-west Pacific,' has sunk a Japanese cruiser of the 5100-ton Kuma class. The cruiser was sighted at the northern entrance to the Straits of Malacca, and the submarine closed In at full speed. Two hits were obtained
