MARRIED IN PRETORIA
The marriage of Miss Elisabeth Acland, only daughter of Sir Hugh and Lady Acland, "Chippenham," Brown's Road, Christchurch, and Mr. John Pavey, of Tivington, Somerset, England, was celebrated in Pretoria, South Africa, on December 15. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Pavey, who left Christchurch some years ago for England, trained as an almoner in London, and almost since the outbreak of war has held an important administrative position in a hospital in Pretoria. Her husband is well known in South Canterbury, where he formerly lived for a few years.
