NATIONAL SERVICE
SHELVED IN UNITED STATES Rec. 1 p.m. WASHINGTON, Jan. 18. The chairman of the Military Committee of the House of Representatives, Mr. A. J. May, announced that the committee has indefinitely postponed the national service legislation requested by President Roosevelt. He explained that the committee may resume consideration of the situation later. Meanwhile it is holding the matter in abeyance pending further developments.
