FIRE AT JOINERY FACTORY. New Plymouth.—Fire early this morning destroyed the large joinery factory of the. Sash and Door Timber Co., Ltd. The factory was almost completely burnt out. The damage to the building', stock, and plant, which are covered by insurance, represents several thousands of pounds. The brigade prevented the flames spreading to the yards, where large quantities of timber are stocked under cover, and also the adjoining buildings. Fortunately, large stocks of joinery made under Government contracts had been dispatched. _ It is'believed that some of the machinery may be reconditioned.—P.A,
