VISIT TO SOVIET PORT
H.M.S. DUKE OF YORK
Rec. 1 p.m. RUGBY, Jan. 13. Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser, Com-mander-in-Chief of the Home Fleet, recently paid a visit in H.M.S. Duke of York to Vice-Admiral Golovko, Commander-in-Chief of the Soviet Northern Fleet. This was the^ first occasion that the flagship of the Home Fleet had entered a Soviet harbour. It was soon after the visit that the Duke of York destroyed the Scharnhorst. The British ship and her complement received an enthusiastic reception from the Russians, and there was the usual exchange of courtesies between British and Russian naval men. —8.0. W. ■:
