WELLINGTON FIELDS TWENTY-SEVEN IN CUP Although it was not necessary to operate a ballot in the Cup race to be run at the Wellington Summer Meeting next Saturday, the only, defection from the T:8 and over division was Representative, who was injured on his. return trip from the New Zealand Cup Meeting. The Telegraph Handicap, the open sprint, has drawn a field of 19, Cambria and Route March being the only two from the top division to drop out. In the Wellington Stakes there is a field of 18. It includes Nawab and Subdued, the leading two-year-olds for the current season. Contrary to expectations, only one field exceeded the safety number. This was the Ruapehu Hack Handicap, in which eight dual acceptors were eliminated.
