EXCESSIVE PROFITS
SENTENCES IN FIJI
|Rec. 9 a.m. SUVA, January 7. P. J. Patel, an Indian wholesale storekeeper, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment and a fine of £400, in default a further six months in gaol, on a charge of selling textile piece goods at excessive prices. His excess profit was £78. Tulsibhai, for a similar offence, is to serve three months' imprisonment and pay a fine of £300, in default a further three months' gaol. The excess profits in this case were £140.
