EIGHTH DAY
AIR RAIDS ON FRANCE
CONTINUOUS ATTACK
Rec. 12.30 p.m. RUGBY, January 7. R.A.F. Mitchell and Boston bombers and Typhoon bombers attacked military objectives today, including airfields in northern France, states the Air Ministry. The medium bombers were escorted and covered by R.A.F. and Allied fighters. The Typhoon bombers were supported by R.A.F. fighters. Air correspondents point out that this is the eighth day of continuous day and night air assaults on targets in France. Strong forces of United States and Eighth Air Force Fortresses-and Liberators attacked targets in south-western Germany today. They were escorted by American fighters and were given withdrawal support b% United States, R.A;F., Dominion, and' Allied fighters. Bomber Command Mosquitoes last night attacked objectives in western Germany and northern France. Other aircraft laid, mines in enemy waters. All returned." Yesterday R.A.F. medium and light bombers and fighter-bombers in small formations attacked military objectives in northern France. R.A.F., Dominion, and Allied fighters also carried out offensive patrols over northern France. Three enemy aircraft were destroyed. Six of ours are missing.—8.0. W.
