NAZI ASSASSINATION
DANISH DRAMATIST
LONDON, January 6. The whole of Denmark has been angered by news of the murder .of Pastor Kaj Munk, one of the greatest Scandinavian dramatists and regarded as the successor to Ibsen, whose body was found riddled with revolver bullets in a wood near Silkeborg, Jutland, says the "Daily Telegraph's" Stockholm correspondent. The assassins are known to be four Danish Nazis.
Pastor Munk, who was 46 years of age, never ceased to write and preach against the Nazis and proclaim the cause of freedom. According to the Stockholm correspondent of the Associated Press of America, a traveller stated that the Germans prohibited him from preaching in 1942, and removed the ban last November. Pastor Munk said at Christmas that the British and Americans were coming to help the Danes to get rid of the Germans.
The traveller added that the German soldiers in Jutland are in a state of alarm. The Danes generally are awaiting invasion.
