TO BE IN LONDON

INVASION HEADQUARTERS

Rec. 10.50 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 6. General Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander in the United Kingdom, will make his headquarters in London, says the "Evening Standard." This announcement is expected to be made from Allied headquarters when he arrives. General Eisenhower may bring to London many staff officers who served under him at North African headquarters. His movements have been a secret since January 2, when he sent a farewell message to the Allied forces in North Africa.

Germans also sent up numerous rocketfiring Messerschmitts. The German news agency says that Dusseldorf and Elberfeld were among the places attacked in western Germany yesterday.

The Luftwaffe used a new weapon against the Fortresses and Liberators over Kiel, namely, an aerial bomb on a wire behind the planes. One Fortress pilot said it looked like a 100----pounder and exploded harmlessly 50 yards from his ship. He was unable to see how it was exploded. Another pilot said that a plane with a trailing bomb sped through his formation. The bomb exploded with a big white flash just behind his Fortress, rocking it violently but causing no damage.
