26,000-MILE CRUISE
THE SUBMARINE TRIDENT
Rec. 10.50 a.m. RUGBY, January 5. The British submarine Trident arrived in a northern harbour recently after the completion of an operational cruise of 26,000 miles which in twelve months took her from North Cape to the Malacca Straits.
Since the outbreak of war the Trident, which apart from refits has been in the operational service continuously, has sunk or severely damaged about 60,000 tons of shipping, and it damaged the German cruiser Prinz Eugen in February, 1942.—8.0.W,
