CRICKET
A cricket match between teams representing the Hutt Valley Cricket Association and the Christchurch City and Suburban Association, played at Christchurch, was won by the homo side by nine wickets. . Outstanding among tho individual performances was a century by J. May, of the visiting side. Scores were:— Christchurch, 314 and 46 for one wicket; Hutt Valley, 127 (M. Jones 58, W. Targett 25) and 227 (J. May 100, M. Jones 47, F. Brocklebank 30).
Auckland and Canterbury women's representative cricket teams played a match at Auckland for the Hallyburtbn Johnstone Shield, Canterbury winning by three wickets. Scores: —Auckland, 220 and 103; Canterbury, 191 and 133 for seven wickets.
