MISSING WOMAN

P.A. AUCKLAND, January 4. Inquiries are being made by the police regarding the whereabouts of Mrs. Eileen Caroline Lawson, a married woman, with nine children, a member of the Salvation Army, who has been missing from her home at Mangere since New Year's Eve. Mrs. Lawson left home on Friday evening with the intention, it is believed, of attending a Salvation Army service at Onehunga. According to information received by the police, her 10-year-old son accompanied her as far as the Onehunga side of the Mangere bridge, where she gave him some money and he returned home.. Mr. Lawson arrived home at 11 p.m. after working late, and his wife was then missing. Aged 35 years, Mrs. Lawson was wearing a Salvation Army uniform. Inquiries have been made by the police among relatives and friends, but so far without success1.
