CARILLON RECITAL

A recital, by automatic player, will be given on the National War Memorial Carillon, Buckle Street, at 12.15 p.m. tomorrow in honour of the 34,000 British seamen who gave their lives in the Great War in keeping .the Empire's sealanes open and thereby contributed so largely to the final victory- Marking the occasion the Mercantile Marine bell, "The Seven Seas" (1 ton 13cwt) will be sounded seven times. The following programme will be played:-—(1) Hymn: "For Those in Peril on the Sea"; (2) songs of the sea: (a) "Shenandoah," (b) "Tom Bowling," (c) "The Bay of Biscay," (d) "The Rio Grande"; (3) "Rule, Britannia"; (4) "Auld Lang Syne"; (5) The bell, "The Seven Seas"; (6) "God Defend New Zealand" and National Anthem.
