LIAISON OFFICER
MRS. DREAVER'S NEW JOB
In order to facilitate the solution of the present farm labour, problem, and further the organisation of the Women's Land Service, Mrs. Mary Dreaver has been appointed liaison officer between the Government and the National Service Department. She has left for Kaitaia to open a Dominion tour, during:which she will investigate the conditions under which land girls work, the wages paid to them, and the supply of uniforms and equipment issued to them. ; The tour will also be in the nature of a recruiting campaign, and it is hoped it will clear up many existing doubts and difficulties and encourage many more girls to'join the ranks of the land army. Mrs. Dreaver, who was Labour M.P. for Waitemata, was defeated at the last election by the National Party candidate.
