STORM IN AUCKLAND
P.A. AUCKLAND, This Day* Auckland was swept by a howling, gale last night. In some suburbs fences were spreadeagled, trees were' brought down, and a number of wan-• dows of houses, also two plate-glass^ windows, were broken. Much damage was done to gardens. A tree was blown across the main trunk railwayline between Pokeno and Mercer, and delayed traffic for a considerable time. i The first Wellington express arrived an hour and a half behind.time.
