IMMIGRATION QUESTION
P.A. NAPIER, This Day. The Government is to be asked for a clearly-defined immigration policy, also to appoint a Minister of Immigration. It was pointed out at the conference of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation that the population of the Dominion could not exceed 1,800,000 on the present trend of the birth-rate. After discussion the conference decided to make the requests stated.
