NAZI DEVASTATION
PORTS IN SOUTHERN FRANCE
LONDON, October 13. The Germans, after demolishing the old harbour at Marseilles, are now re- ] moving all installations of value, says Algiers radio. They are spreading' devastation in French Mediterranean ports. Quoting official Vichy figures, the radio says that the total cost of the German occupation of France to March 31, 1943, was 540,700,000,000 francs, which was equivalent to £1,089,700,000! before the war.
